Will Wonder Man, One Of The Greatest Directors Ever Make His Debut In The Marvel Cinematic Universe?

After the recent announcement of the new Wonder Man director, let’s go back to talking about one of the next Marvel Studios TV series being worked on for the Disney Plus on-demand streaming platform thanks to the latest casting news.

A few days after reporting that Demetrius Grosse had signed on for the cast of Wonder Manthe well-known industry insider Daniel RPK broke the news of two new entries for the series, one of which is nothing short of sensational: the first is Lauren Glazier, actress of Tales of the Walking Dead, but the other – brace yourselves – is none other than Werner Herzog, one of the greatest directors in the history of cinema: anyone who knows his career knows that the German (indeed, Bavarian, like often wants to underline) he has always loved to pass from time to time in front of the camera, and often in Hollywood in recent years he has played various villain roles, such as those in The Mandalorian and Jack Reacher with Tom Cruise.

For her role, as well as for that of Lauren Glazier, no further details have been provided, so for the moment we invite you to stay tuned for future updates: the show should go into production in April, so official news is likely they won’t be kept waiting too long.

Recall that the Wonder Man series is written by Andrew Guest and created by Destin Daniel Cretton, director of Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings who will also direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty for Marvel Studios. The story will introduce one of Marvel Comics’ most popular characters, Simon Williams, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, to the MCU and is expected to release in late 2024 or early 2025.
