Stranger Things star Sadie Sink gave an interview to The Hollywood Reporter in which she delved into her role in the Brendan Fraser-starring film The Whale. Sadie Sink offered her perspective on Ellie, a character that earned her critical and commercial praise.

“While we were shooting the first few times I thought ‘She really has a lot of dark sides’ but eventually I realized that they have developed over time and come from all the pain she has endured and is still in. She is very insecure and hasn’t found her place yet place in the world,” he said.

Actually, Ellie is also a positive character“It is good in Ellie. I don’t know if my character is all good or all bad. Sadie Sink plays with her father, and she tries to challenge him but Charlie can read between the lines of what is happening. He knows that it is good inside her and deep down I too am convinced that she is a good person”. The film has received excellent feedback from critics and audiences but despite the nominationBrendan Fraser will not attend the Golden Globes.

The Whale, directed by Darren Aronofsky, tells the story of Charlie, an English teacher who suffers from obesity and loneliness and who tries to reconnect with his teenage daughter Ellie to try to get one last chance at redemption.
The film also stars Hong Chau, Ty Simpkins, and Samantha Morton. The feature film is an adaptation of the play of the same name by Samuel D. Hunter.
