The Mandalorian 3, The Director: “Many Star Wars Stories Will Reach Their Climax”

Season 3 of The Mandalorian debuts on Disney+ today with the first episode, with the story picking up where we left off over a year ago in The Book of Boba Fett, where Din Djarin and Grogu make a surprise appearance to reunite on screen after a time away. Here are the words of the director on the new episodes.

In an interview with Deadline on the occasion of Tuesday’s premiere of the third season of The Mandalorian, Rick Famuyiwa anticipated a return to the “seeds” planted in the first season of the Star Wars series.

“ The storytelling that Jon [Favreau] has been driving since the beginning has been very slow and measured; every season, every project, has led us to this. It has led us to season three,” said Famuyiwa. And so I think there are a lot of seeds planted that have grown and will culminate this season, and I think that’s partly what you feel the most – the sense of the culminating events. In some ways, this feels like a third act. , although there are many stories yet to be told .”

Famuyiwa added, “ But this is the feeling I had: that I have embarked on a journey with these characters, and that journey will certainly come to its culmination in the course of this season ”.

As already anticipated by Favreau, the ending of The Mandalorian has not been planned yet, so the adventures of Din Djarin and Grogu could continue for several more years; considering that two series such as Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew are also on the way, set in the same timeline as The Mandalorian, these shows could keep us company for a long time yet.
