The Exorcist: Jennifer Nettles Joins the Cast of David Gordon Green’s Trilogy

Last October, news broke of an Exorcist trilogy David Gordon Green was working on. In addition to the confirmation of the new project, some details of the film and above all the cast are already known.

Jennifer Nettles, a famous American singer-songwriter, will officially join the cast. Leslie Odom Jr., Ann Dowd, and Ellen Burstyn will also return.

Of the latter, Green said: ” The purpose [of the project] is to honor Chris MacNeil (Burstyn’s character). We see her again after 50 years, so there is a significant evolution of her character, but I think that it will be a lot of fun to explore it”.Director David Gordon Green, who was also in charge of the ‘Halloween’ project some time ago, spoke of the directorial differences between the two projectsWe are about to start a technical process that is decidedly different from that of ‘Halloween’. I don’t necessarily categorize it as a horror film, although it has all the makings of it. It’s quite psychological and dramatic. It doesn’t have that simultaneously funny tension that Halloween has, nor those qualities that the latter has. He’s very serious and very direct, and I don’t know, but I’m very enthusiastic.

David Gordon Green has already planned the first two films of the trilogy, the third will be handled by the production of Halloween Ends. But clearly, the trilogy will be different from Halloween Ends.
