Start of shooting: “His Dark Materials” finals heralded
A war is brewing: In collaboration with BBC One, HBO is now working on the third and final season of His Dark Materials.
It was clear from the start that the successful adaptation of the series of Phillip Pullman’s works would be over after a total of three seasons. After the first season, “ Der Goldene Kompass ” had been adapted, and then season 2 had fully concentrated on “ The Magic Knife ”, the final season was going to put “ The Amber Telescope ” on film and thus bring the trilogy to a close. Now the two “ His Dark Materials ” young stars Dafne Keen and Amir Wilson announced via Twitter that filming for the final season has officially started.
Accordingly, the team is currently at Wolf Studios in Wales to get the third and final season of the popular fantasy series off the ground. For the shooting, Keen, Wilson, and Co. will end up in England towards the end. In season 3 of “His Dark Materials” Will (Amir Wilson), the wielder of the Magic Knife, and Lyra (Dafne Keen), the Child of Prophecy, will have to travel through many different worlds to find and protect one another.
In addition to the two talented young stars, Ruth Wilson as Marisa Coulter, Simone Kirby as Dr. Mary Malone, and James McAvoy return as Lord Asriel. The latter had to sit out in season 2 due to the novel, quasi reports in exchange for Andrew Scott’s John Parry is now back. New in the third and final season is Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc in ” Suicide Squad “), Jamie Ward, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith.
When the final season of “His Dark Materials” will appear is currently still unclear. Season 2 of the spectacular series started exclusively on Sky last December but has since been removed from the program. Currently, you can only stream the first season with a subscription. Season 2 will be broadcast on Sky Atlantic from today to coincide with the start of the shooting.
