While all fans are still longingly waiting for THE crossover par excellence, the future of ” Solar Opposites ” looks damn bright now. As reported by Deadline, among other things, Hulu has now officially commissioned a fourth season of the successful cartoon series by Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan (” Star Trek: Lower Decks “). The series, which Roiland and McMahan are producing in parallel to their ” Rick and Morty ” success, runs exclusively here in Germany at Disney +. Season 3 is due to appear in 2022.
The fact that “Solar Opposites” has now been extended prematurely is hardly surprising: the show has blossomed into a worldwide hit in a very short time. The story: After Korvo, Yumyulack, Terry, and Jesse barely escaped their exploding home planet, the four aliens had to make an emergency landing on earth. While one half tries urgently to leave the new home, the other half has long been happily tinkering with human customs.
The elephant in the room: A crossover between Rick, Morty, and the four alien dudes MUST come. It is unfortunately not yet known whether Roiland and McMahan are actually planning this. Another problem is that “Solar Opposites” and “Rick and Morty” sail under different flags. It remains to be seen whether Justin Roiland has a killer idea and can convince the two studios of it. Hopefully!
