RECORD-BREAKING AVATAR 2 ALSO IN CHINA: IT WILL STAY IN THEATERS LONGER THAN EXPECTED

Avatar 2 is conquering audiences around the world and as expected, the film with James Cameron is achieving sensational collections in every corner of the globe so much so that China has decided against all odds to keep it in theaters longer than expected.
Despite what was previously established, the authorities of the Asian state have decided to extend the stay of Avatar 2 in cinemas, going well beyond the canonical 30 days allowed for US films imported into the country.
The second chapter of the film set on Pandora was released in China on December 16, 2022, and according to the country’s stringent rules, it was supposed to leave theaters by January 15, 2023. However, a Disney spokesperson in Asia confirmed to Variety that this did not will happen and that the film will be visible to the public at least until mid-February and with him, even Puss in Boots 2 will be able to remain in cinemas for some time yet.
Such an unusual choice certainly depends on the huge collections of Avatar 2 which also managed to surpass The Lion King, becoming one of the best collections of all time, currently positioning itself in seventh place in this special ranking.
