After Fernando Santos left as Portuguese national coach, his successor should be known. Roberto Martinez to become Portugal, new national team coach?
The Spaniard is apparently facing a commitment as Portugal’s national coach. Martinez is to take over from Fernando Santos, who resigned after the World Cup, according to The Athletic, among others.
It is said that there is already a corresponding verbal agreement – the deal should be sealed by the end of next week. There has not yet been any confirmation from the Portuguese Football Association FPF.

Martinez failed with Belgium in the preliminary round
Martinez himself was until recently the coach of the Belgian national team, his time also ended after six years because of the Red Devils’ surprising preliminary-round elimination in Qatar.
Martínez coached Belgium in 79 games of which he won 56. He previously spent three years on the touchline at Everton in the Premier League.
