The central defender had to take a break in the training camp in Doha – his timeout extends to the friendly game on the Bayern campus.

Matthijs de Ligt is missing from FC Bayern against Salzburg – Mané fit for Paris?

“Matthijs has twisted his ankle,” confirmed coach Julian Nagelsmann on Friday morning at a recent media conference in Doha: “He has nothing structural,

we’ve looked at it,

but he has to sit out and won’t be able to play against Salzburg.”

The game against Salzburg is the dress rehearsal for the start of the second half of the season at RB Leipzig on Friday in a week

With a view to the even more important first leg of the Champions League round of 16 at Paris Saint-Germain,

Nagelsmann was hoping for a timely comeback from the injured top star Sadio Mané: “If everything goes very, very well,

it could be enough for the first leg against Paris.

But I don’t make predictions.”

The Senegalese has been out since the beginning of November due to a complicated inflammation in the head of the fibula and therefore missed the World Cup in Qatar.
