Madama Web: Emma Roberts Anticipates New Details on Her Character!
A few weeks ago filming officially resumed on Madame Web, the Sony cine-comic that will hit theaters on February 16, 2024. While plot details haven’t been revealed yet, a cast member recently shared new updates regarding the film and her character.
During her last appearance on the Shut Up Evan podcast, Emma Roberts indeed spoke about her role, revealing that she will not play a superhero in the film: ” What I can tell you is that I will not be a superhero “, the actress declared in response to the host Evan Ross Katz. ” Some people might think so but no… I won’t have any superpowers. I can tell you that. ”
The American Horror Story star continued, “It’s really unlike any other Marvel movie, it’s super grounded. I love that it has so many great actresses, it’s female-driven and I just think it‘s not going to be what people expect .”
According to many, in the film, Emma Roberts will play Mary Parker, the mother of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. The remaining cast of Madame Web consists of Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Adam Scott, and Zosia Mamet. The film is directed by SJ Clarkson, a British television director who previously directed some episodes of Jessica Jones and Defenders.
