Level-less Netflix bouncer: “Carnaval”
Actually, no rooster would crow after Carnaval. Because Netflix sells the film far too prominently, the stupid party trip becomes a dreaded cineast trigger.
Ciao ey. I am glad that I do not belong to the target group here. Before, during, and after “ Carnaval ” one is almost ashamed to have anything to do with the media. Advertised as a hot summer hit from the Brazilian sun, the cheaply produced Netflix party trip of our four seldom stupid influencer ladies comes as a hackneyed cliché festival on the lowest TV level.
The only plus point: Despite the ridiculous story, I’m now extremely in the mood for a beach vacation. Oh, and the cast, of course. Regardless of who flits through the picture here, attractiveness and sex appeal are very, very important in Brazil. Sure, it doesn’t always have to be profound or challenging. Entertaining entertainment, in which we can forget everyday life and at least for the moment sink into funny, exciting, or sad stories, has become even more important these days.

But: If a film tries to deliberately sell me for stupid things, without even disguising how badly it is produced, I’ll quickly turn into a harp – then no more whip-up helps. Fortunately, I didn’t pay any money for the “Carnaval” – my time was precious enough.
The story: It couldn’t be better for Nina. Through her work as an influencer, she becomes better known and more successful every day, her loving boyfriend is waiting at home. But when she catches him cheating, a video of which even goes viral, the world collapses for Nina. To get other thoughts, she quickly booked an all-inclusive trip to the Carnival in Salvador. With them in their luggage: their three best friends and they plan to let off steam again.
