Füllkrug changes consultants – Werder reacts

Niclas Füllkrug is changing advisors – his new agency represents various top stars from FC Bayern, among other things. SV Werder Bremen reacts.

Niclas Füllkrug surprisingly parted ways with his longtime advisor.

The German international of SV Werder Bremen ended his collaboration with Gunther Neuhaus after 14 years and joined the agency ROOF – one of the largest consulting agencies in football. The change of the German national player from ROOF was confirmed on Instagram on Sunday.

Nothing was initially known about the reasons for the move. The Deichstube writes that over the years, Füllkrug and Neuhaus had mastered many ups and downs together. Most recently, the cabin Zoff between Füllkrug and Clemens Fritz almost led to the end of the 29-year-old professional at Werder.

“It was relatively close that something slipped because things could no longer be caught,” Neuhaus recently explained in DeichTalk. But there were many good discussions with those responsible in Bremen.

Change of consultant should fuel rumors

When there is a change of consultant, there is often speculation – and this is likely to be the case in Füllkrug – as to whether it could have been followed by the player changing clubs. There have been rumors about the filling jug for a long time anyway. Even if his contract on the Weser runs until 2025.

Among other things, the striker has meanwhile been associated with FC Bayern. Side note in this context: Various players of the German record champions such as Serge Gnabry and Sadio Mané are represented by ROOF.

Füllkrug had a strong season that was crowned with a nomination for the DFB World Cup team. The beefy attacker also knew how to convince at the tournament itself.

According to Clemens Fritz, Werder is not worried – at least in the short term. “Niclas approached us and informed us that he was changing consultants. He is hoping for new input from outside. But he also made it clear that he didn’t want to force a transfer in the winter,” Bremen’s sporting director explained to SPORT1.

“Our situation has not changed as a result. Should an economically and sportingly interesting offer come in, we will deal with it. But so far there isn’t. But we are also very relaxed and assume that Niclas will play for us in the second half of the season.”

At SPORT1, Füllkrug recently said that he did not want to take part in the speculation about a Bayern change. “I don’t think about anything like that. I am now happy to be back here in Bremen. He likes the boys and the way we play. In addition, I still have enough opportunities to develop myself here.”
